Important notice about ads and permissions

ScanQR Li is a free, ad-supported application. Advertisements — including full-screen and video ads — will be shown frequently during use, and the App requests a broad set of device permissions in order to scan and to serve those ads. Please read sections 2, 3 and 4 in full before installing.

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how the ScanQR Li mobile application (package name com.scannqrli.app, the "App") collects, uses and shares information. By downloading, installing or using the App you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not install the App, or follow our Uninstall Guide to remove it.

2. The App is free and supported by advertising

Please read this section carefully before installing: ScanQR Li is provided free of charge and is funded entirely by advertising. This means advertisements will be displayed inside the App on a regular and frequent basis.

Ad formats that may appear include, without limitation:

  • Banner ads shown at the top or bottom of screens.
  • Interstitial and full-screen ads shown between actions, for example after a scan, when opening a result, or when returning to the App.
  • Native ads blended into lists, results and content areas.
  • Rewarded video ads that you may choose to watch to unlock an optional feature.
  • App-open ads shown when the App is launched or brought back to the foreground.
  • Promotional or advertising content delivered through push notifications.
  • Cross-promotion of our other applications and partner offers.

Ads may appear at any time during normal use, may interrupt your workflow, may play sound or video, and may open third-party websites or app stores when tapped. Ad frequency, placement and content can change at any time without notice as we adjust and test our advertising configuration.

We do not control the specific advertisements you see. Ads are selected and served by third-party advertising networks and their partners. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, offers, pricing, claims or practices of any advertiser or any site or app you reach through an ad. Interact with advertisements at your own discretion, and never enter payment or personal details in an ad you do not trust.

3. Advertising partners and identifiers

We work with third-party advertising and analytics providers, which may include Google AdMob, Google Ad Manager, the Google Mobile Ads SDK, mediation partners and their downstream demand partners. These providers may collect and process information automatically, including:

  • Your Google Advertising ID (a resettable device identifier) and, where applicable, other non-permanent identifiers.
  • IP address and derived approximate location (such as country, region or city).
  • Device information: model, manufacturer, operating system version, language, time zone, screen size, carrier, network type and available memory.
  • Ad interaction data: which ads were requested, shown, viewed, clicked, closed or skipped, and how long they were on screen.
  • App usage events used to measure ad performance and detect invalid traffic or fraud.

These partners act as independent controllers of the data they collect and may combine it with information collected from other apps and websites to build interest profiles and serve personalized advertising. We recommend reviewing Google's advertising policies for details.

Where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland) we present a consent message before personalized advertising is enabled, and you may change or withdraw your choice from the App's settings where that option is offered. You can also reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time through your device settings, as described in our Uninstall Guide.

4. Permissions the App may request

To provide scanning features and to display advertising, the App may request the permissions listed below. Some permissions are requested only when you first use the related feature, and Android may show them grouped differently depending on your device and OS version. You may decline or later revoke any permission in your device settings — some features will then stop working.

Camera

Required to scan QR codes, barcodes and documents. The camera feed is processed on your device in real time and is not recorded or uploaded by us.

Photos, media and storage / files

Lets you scan a code from an image already saved on your device and lets the app save generated codes or scanned documents to your gallery or downloads folder.

Notifications

Used to send you scan results, reminders, product updates and promotional messages, which may include advertising content. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

Internet / network access and network state

Required to open scanned links, load remote content, request and display advertising, and report anonymous crash and performance data.

Advertising ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID)

Used by our advertising partners to measure ad performance, cap how often an ad is shown and, where permitted, deliver personalized advertising.

Approximate or coarse location (where applicable)

Some ad networks may infer a general location from your IP address or, with your consent, use coarse location signals to serve region-appropriate advertising and comply with local law.

Vibrate, wake lock, foreground service and run at startup

Used for scan feedback, to keep the scanner responsive while it is open and to restore the app's state.

Billing (where offered)

Used only if you choose to purchase an ad-free upgrade or other optional in-app product through Google Play.

5. Information we collect

Scan content. Scanned codes, documents and generated codes are stored locally on your device. We do not upload your scan history to our servers.

Automatically collected data. As described above, advertising, analytics and crash-reporting SDKs automatically collect device, usage, diagnostic and advertising data.

Information you send us. If you contact us by email or through our contact form, we receive your email address and the content of your message and use it only to answer you.

6. How we use information

  • To operate, maintain and improve the App's scanning features.
  • To display, measure and optimize advertising, including personalized advertising where permitted.
  • To diagnose crashes, bugs and performance problems.
  • To detect fraud, abuse and invalid ad traffic.
  • To respond to your support, privacy or ad-related requests.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

7. Sharing of information

We share information with advertising networks and mediation partners, analytics and crash reporting providers, hosting and infrastructure providers, and with authorities where required by law or to protect our rights. We do not sell your scan content. Certain data sharing with advertising partners may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under some US state privacy laws; where that applies, you may exercise your opt-out rights by contacting us.

8. Data retention and security

Scan data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. Data collected by third-party providers is retained according to their own policies. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of personalized advertising. You can exercise these rights, or ask any question about ads shown in the App, by emailing yantal2018@gmail.com. The simplest way to stop all data collection by the App is to uninstall it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes take effect when the updated version is posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
